Let’s talk about Ohio rain this wedding season. It’s been torturous! It has rained for 7 of my weddings this year. Going into this season it had only ever rained at like 2 of 70 some weddings and this year SEVEN. Really mother nature? Give me a break (give all Ohio wedding photographers a break!).
Honestly though, it really had looked like rain wasn’t going to be an issue on Alyssa and Andy’s wedding day, that goes to show you just how much you can prepare but you just never know what will happen. Right when we met at Goodale Park the darkest clouds covered the sky and the wind picked up to hurricane speeds (or so it felt!). We managed to get some epic shots and the lighting was truly beautiful. After the first look we ran to the limo to avoid the down pour that was about to happen.
Alyssa and Andy’s wedding was held at Dock580, one of my favorite Columbus Ohio wedding venues. Luckily, we were able to get in some portraits here and there with the rain but the ceremony had to be moved indoors. I know this wasn’t what the couple planned but looking around the room I know they felt comfort in knowing that even though the ceremony couldn’t be in the outdoor courtyard as planned that they still had their cloest family and friends there to love and support them as they said their vows to each other. In fact, life isn’t going to always going to go as plan for any married couple but we all know that we can always count on those who supported us and were there the day we said ‘i do.” Andy and Alyssa, you guys were a blast to work with, your wedding was so unique and wonderful, I loved being a part of it, thanks for having me.
